
Aziz Damani Hurricanes were declared champions of the inaugural Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) Women’s T-20 Elite League on Sunday at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.
Aziz Damani Hurricanes overcame Challengers Blizzards to clinch the championship in a two-team series that started on Friday.
Hurricanes won three of the five games played against Challengers Blizzards.
The opening game was a wash out before both shared points and later Hurricanes won afternoon action by 10 wickets.
Hurricanes again won the next two games played on Saturday morning and afternoon by 8 runs and 8 wickets to win the championship with a game in hand before the Blizzards were winners in the final game by 13 runs.
The tournament followed the Men’s three-team Elite league which also happened at the same venue last month (won by Aziz Damani Scorpions).
