AUPL: Onduparaka Ease Past Soana to Go Joint Top

Azam Uganda Premier League

Onduparaka FC 2-0 Soana

Onduparaka Football Club put up a perfect performance to defeat Soana in the game played at the Betway Greenlight stadium.

Two quick goals inside the opening ten minutes ensured Onduparaka made light work over Soana who seemed at sixes and sevens especially in the opening half.

Defender and skipper Rashid Toha gave the Caterpillars the lead inside the opening minute of the game for a perfect start.

The towering defender jumped high to head home Kabon Living’s delivery from a corner.

Before Soana’s back line could settle, Onduparaka doubled the lead in the 9th minute.

A long ball from Kabon beat the Soana defence line and Vianney Ssekajugo who was making his debut did no mistake to slot home.

Onduparaka became rampant and could have even scored more goals but Alfred Leku, Kabon and Gadaffi Gadinho all fluffed the chances.

By the end of the first 45 minutes, the Caterpillars had given themselves a good account and it was always going to be hard for Soana to come back.

The second period was clearly about safe guarding the lead even when Soana seemed to have stabilized.

The result takes Onduparaka joint top on ten points alongside Vipers and Police FC who also have the same points.
