Mbarara City vs Bright stars
Kakyeka Stadium, 4:30pm
Newly promoted side Mbarara City Football Club will look to impress yet again as they return to action against Bright stars at Kakyeka stadium on Tuesday.
After an emphatic victory against Express FC over the weekend, the Ankole Lions will come into Tuesday’s game in high spirits and hoping to replicate a similar performance.
Mbarara City have impressed in their opening two games, collecting four points in two games and yet to concede a goal.
With head coach Richard Makumbi going AWOL, his assistant Vialli Bainomugisha has been able to guide the team in the two games played and is confident they can pick another positive result.
“We are prepared and highly motivated ahead of the game against Bright stars. The boys are in good shape and ready for the game,” he said.
” We respect them(Bright stars ) because they have played in the league for some time but we have now got mental strength to take on any team,” Vialli added.
There are no injury concerns for Mbarara City besides Methodius Bassey who didn’t start the season with the team.
Striker Makweth Wol is yet to get clearance with concerns about his passport and will thus not be available.
On the other hand, Bright stars travel to Mbarara City on the back of two successive draws and will be seeking to register their first win this season.
With head coach Fred Kajjoba still serving a four match ban, his assistant Paul Kiwanuka will be in charge on the touchline.
Midfielder Jimmy Kakooza is still serving a red card suspension and thus has not travelled with the team to Mbarara.
This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams.
