URA football club registered their third consecutive draw of the season after a late controversial Kakaire’s strike ensured Vipers picked a point at the Mekhta stadium in Lugazi in Tuesday afternoon.
The two giants have now recorded five draws in their last six outings including an identical one all draw in last season second leg at Buikwe stadium.
Newly signed Bokota Labama Bovice gave Kefa Kisala’s side a 70th minute lead after beating James Alitho to a rebound.
Another newcomer Mukongotya was at the centre of the business after transiting through Vipers half before a quick exchange with Shafic Kagimu and then fired a powerful low shot which Alitho failed to handle firmly. Bokota rushed and raised it above the keeper for the goal.
When things looked to end well for the tax collectors only for Brian Kakaire to appear from nowhere dribbling past two defenders and finally unleashed a curling shot to the far post.
The ball hit the pole and Nafion Alionzi had appeared to have saved it back but the third official moved off his line to signal a goal leaving the former Caterpillar to react.
The draw means URA fail to win a match after the three match days the other against Jinja sides Kirinya and BUL FC. Vipers have picked two draws and win to accumulate five points.
the tax collectors travel to Kakindu stadium on Friday to face JMC Hippos while Vipers return to their home base in Nakivubo to host BUL FC.
