Kavumba Recreation Centre

The encounter between Soana FC and Kirinya Jinja SS produced thrilling moments as both teams put up brilliant performance.

Despite taking the lead, Soana FC needed a stoppage time equaliser to deny Kirinya from earning maximum points.

The game produced renewal of acquaintance as the two coaches were facing their former employers.

Alex Isabirye who was in charge at Soana FC was taking on the Jinja SS side that he coached last season. This was the same case for Kirinya’s Charles Ayieko.

Despite a barren first half that started amidst little drizzles, the visitors took the lead through Faizal Muwawu nine minutes after restart.

However, the lead was shortlived with former Jinja SS defender Mike Kawooya  levelling matters in the 53rd minute.

The school side regained their lead at the 70th minute mark through on form Fred Amaku who was scoring his sixth goal of the season.

With the game destined to end, defender Issa Mubiru had other options as his ferocious strike salvaged a point for Soana FC.

Soana FC remained 12th on the on 21 points while Jinja SS moved to 25 points in seventh place.
