Arrest Warrant Extended as Deputy RCC Snubs Court Again

Buganda Road Magistrates Court has extended the warrant of arrest for Kampala Deputy Resident City Commissioner Hajjat Hawa Ntenge, who is accused of obstructing Police from carrying out its duties.

Deputy RCC for Kampala Hawa Ntenge was expected to appear voluntarily or be produced by Police in court on Thursday for plea taking, but she never showed up.

This prompted Magistrate Asuman Muhumuza to extend the warrant of arrest up to 19th March 2020.

Prosecution led by Patricia Cintho alleges that on 25th April 2019 at Embassy House in Kampala, Mrs Ntege knowingly obstructed Police Detectives Godfrey Onume and Francis Tayebwa from executing the arrest of Eng. Robert Kakiiza who faced corruption charges.

Kakiiza was among the former Local Government Ministry officials who were charged with misappropriation of 4.2 billion shillings that was meant for the procurement of 70,000 bicycles for LC 1 chairpersons ahead of 2011 General of elections
