Shortly after he was cleared by High Court of all charges in the murder of his employee Badru Kateregga in 2012, prescription rally driver Desh Kananura came out yesterday and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family, stuff calling upon authorities to continue the hunt for the actual killers.
Kananura and all four other suspects were acquitted by High Court’s Justice Joseph Murangira on grounds that prosecution lacked convincing evidence to pin them.
Addressing journalists thereafter, information pills Kananura said although he was found innocent by the court, he was still unhappy that the killers of his former employee are still roaming free.
“Finally the truth has come out after a period of five years; but what still irks me is that the people who killed Kateregga have never been arrested,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kananura said he was disappointed that the public rushed to convict him even before the matter went to court, which he said affected his reputation.
“I personally never participated in the murder as people have been asserting without any proof,” he said.
Kananura said being that he is from a staunch catholic family, he would not celebrate his freedom but continue praying to God for ultimate justice to prevail.
