Following a deadly fire that gutted St Bernard’s SS in Rakai district leaving eleven students dead and scores injured, Robert Sentamu Kyagulanyi the Kyadondo East legislator has come out to commiserate with the affected families.
In a post on Facebook and twitter, the musician turned politician described the incident as “An evil act which must be condemned by all of us” before calling upon authorities to apprehend those that were behind the gruesome act.
Kyagulanyi also urged all Ugandans to learn how to coexist peacefully.
“Let us learn to live together in peace, brotherhood and friendship, and avoid actions which cause unnecessary pain to our fellow citizens,” Kyagulanyi said.
It was alleged that some ten students who were recently expelled from the school had a hand in the fire.
In April 2008, over twenty pupils of Buddo Junior School died in a similar act of arson.
