The management of FUFA Big League side Proline Football Club has appointed Anthony Bongole as their new head coach for the next two years.
Bongole gets into Proline’s dugout as a replacement to Baker Mbowa who was recently unveiled at Uganda Premier League outfit Bright Stars FC.
He will be deputized by Issa Sserwanja and Swaibu Ssebaggala who are both coming through the ranks at the club.
The former Dove All Stars Football Club tactician has a major task of guiding the Lugogo based club back to the top flight league following their relegation to the second tier after the abrupt ending of last season.
Earlier this week, Proline FC maintained pint-sized midfielder Noordin Bunjo as their captain while Arnold Sserunjogi and Hakim Kiwanuka will serve as his assistants.
Going into the 2020/2021 FUFA Big League season, Proline will miss key players in Bright Anukani and Mujuzi Mustafa who joined KCCA FC and Kyetume FC on loan respectively.
Whilst their quartet of midfielders Simon Mbaziira and Ibrahim Wamannah, right back James Begesa, and defender Ronnie Kisekka joined UPL new entrants UPDF FC on permanent deals.
By the time the Uganda Premier League season was ended prematurely due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Proline was positioned 15th on the table with 22 points from 25 games.
It was followed by Maroons FC and Tooro United FC as the other two teams that didn’t beat the drop.
