The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) Party is looking for up to 700 million shillings to fund the nomination of their aspiring Members of Parliament.
According to the party President, Major General Gregory Mugisha Muntu, this money is needed for paying the mandatory 3 million shillings nomination fees for each party aspirant on the Member of Parliament positions among other intentions.
Muntu revealed this on Wednesday in a meeting for all ANT Kigezi region coordinators with the National party leadership held at Heras Country Resort in Southern division Kabale municipality.
Muntu noted that the 3 million nomination fee is a burden to some aspirants especially due to the COVID 19 crisis. He added that the financial constraints of some individuals should however not be a reason for societies to be denied good leadership.
Muntu said that the party has resorted to fundraising from willing Ugandans, Non-Governmental Organizations, and any other willing bodies so that the required funds are raised before the nomination deadline.
Winne Kizza the Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament asked all Ugandans to contribute all they can manage for the success of the party principles and better leadership of Uganda.
