A health worker in Kisoro district is facing disciplinary action after he reportedly run over his colleague with an ambulance during a quarrel.
Police says Gideon Ngabirano knocked and seriously injured his workmate who was identified as John Bosco Mutabazi.
This incident happened on Monday at around 11pm at the Kisoro District Covid19 Quarantine Center at Kisoro PTC.
The two are said to have developed a misunderstanding on whether or not the ambulance number UG 5628M should be fumigated.
Some of the eyewitnesses at the quarantine center say Mutabazi was fumigating the area, but when he decided to fumigate the ambulance, he was confronted by the driver Ngabirano.
Ngabirano reported told Mutabazi that the chemicals were not safe for the vehicle, but Mutabazi insisted on doing his job which result in a quarrel.
In the end, Ngabirano started the ambulance and run over Mutabazi.
When he tried to turn it again to run him over the second time, the bystanders intervened and rescued latter and rushed him to Kisoro hospital with a broken leg.
Suleiman Kasozi, the Kisoro District Chief Administrative Officer says they are to take disciplinary action against the driver and that he has already been handed over to police.
