While people spend sleepless nights trying to figure out where their honeymoon will be, sacrificing every penny they can possibly save to fly off for a fairy tale ‘bae-cation’, after the solemn vows “to forever with you, till death do us part” Angie Ingabire Kagame, Rwanda’s first daughter and husband Bertrand Ndegeyingoma decided to create their fascinating Eutopia in the middle of tea plantations in Rwanda.
The newly-weds had a traditional introduction ceremony last year in December and then a beautiful wedding on July 6th at Intare Conference Arena, Rwanda where the tall, elegant 25 year old bride, her arm locked around her father’s, walked down the aisle to the love of her life whom she later described thus, ”I have found the one whom my soul loves.”
You and I could possibly be imagining the feel of waking up to the sound of leaves rustling against the wind, the fresh minty breeze from the vast tea plantations and dining amidst the lush of this Nyungwe Mountain Forest at O&O Nyungwe House. What a better way to embark on a life time matrimonial commitment, lay and watch the blue skies with the person you just said “I DO” to.
Ange and Bertrand could have done this out of love for nature or reasons best known to them but it is yet an eye opener to other people that one can explore their country or community, have utmost experiences and make memories from a place they can revisit, not to say promote the beauty of what our native surroundings are gifted with.
Judging from Ange’s tweet to the hosts which read “Thank you @oonyungwehouse for an unforgettable honeymoon experience. We hope to come back again & again,” accompanied with a collage of photo snippets from their stay, the couple definitely had an incredible time and pledging another visit tells it all.
One&Only Nyungwe house is not the only breathtaking paradise for your honeymoon destination in Rwanda, there are various options to choose from like; the spectacular Kivu Lodge, Gisakura Family Hostel, Top View Hill Hotel and Nyungwe Nziza Eco Lodge among others.
