Amavubi Land in Morrocco for Burkinabe, Tunisia Build Up

Amon Tayebwa, sickness the long serving Veterinary Officer for Kiruhura District and two other men identified as Enock Nabasa and Gerald Nuwamanya have been arrested and detained at Rushere Police Station over livestock theft.

The three are said to have stolen 11 cattle from farmers to whom the vet was rendering extensional services.

Residents told Chimpreports they had long known the officer to be a cattle thief but had not had an opportunity to catch him in action.

This was until his chances run out over weekend when he and the three colleagues were found hiding the cows in the bush with forged documents.

The Kiruhura District Police Commander ASP Byaruhanga Mworozi told our reporter that several reports had come to the police station implicating the vet officer in cattle theft.

He also noted that Tayebwa was working with a larger syndicate of thieves who are being hunted. The group he says was very active in the districts of Lyantonde, Lwengo, Ssembabule, Kiruhura and Rakai.

The arrested face theft charges in the case is registered under CRB 1249/15.

The Amavubi’s started training on Tuesday morning and will continue until Thursday before they play Burkina Faso local-based players a day after.

Rwanda Football Federation has landed another friendly match against Olympic team and the game will be played on Sunday, October 11 in Rabat.

The friendly tie against Tunisia Olympic team comes as a replacement for Equatorial Guinea who could not affirm their commitment to play Rwanda in a friendly match which was scheduled to be played on October 13.

Only local based players will be fielded against Burkinabe while the professionals will take part in the Tunisia clash.
