Preparations for the second edition of the Ani Asinga Motorbike Championship are in high gear as the coveted event draws close.
The organisers of the championship, Tangosport Uganda on Wednesday launched this year’s event slated for December 16th 2018.
The President Eastern Motorclub Peter Brown was thankful for the work done by Tangosport Uganda in promoting sports generally. He also lauded the sponsors for the financial support.
” I take this opportunity to thank the organizers for thinking about the game of Motorsport. This will help to promote the game in this region. I also appreciate the sponsors for the financial contribution towards the event.” He said.
Some of the sponsors included Eagle Oil, BUL, Pacco Events among others.
Joseph Mutaka, Managing Director Tangosport Uganda promised first class organisation to meet the standards of FMU as per the regulatory requirements.
“We promise all sports lovers in Eastern Uganda and Uganda at large that this year’s event will be organised well . We had only Ugandan riders last year but we that this time been allowed by the Motorcross governing body to bring in riders from Kenya. We are very ready for this event and everything is moving according to plan. We have over 50 riders and the event will start at 8:00am that day with adults paying 7,000/= and children 4,000/=.”
The guest of honor, Hon. Moses Grace Balyeku who is also the Member of Parliament for Jinja West Constituency promised maximum support to the organisers and the competitors.
Over 30 riders attended the launch and later had an exhibition session at Jinja Main Street where the event will be held.
