This website has learnt that the new police mouthpiece AIGP Asan Kasingye has received threats on his phone over a story that appeared in a local daily on Saturday.

The report came out in Bukedde Newspaper on the weekend.
“I have received threats from Tel. 0782 744915. When I checked it out, it’s registered in Kagimu John’s names,” Kasingye reportedly told his colleagues at the police headquarters in Naguru.
According to a police source, Kasingye told the colleagues that the people who sent him the threat blamed him for parading wrong motorcycles.
“He (Kagimu) said, ‘why do you put those motorcycles in Bukedde as if they’re the ones that killed omugenzi?’”
The sender of the message then proceeded to threaten Kasingye about his life, saying, “Now that they are with the Police, I hope they will not say the same thing about you.”
The source says, Kasingye tried to call back on the number from which the anonymous message was sent but the owner refused to pick.
