Ageno Comes Strong

Uganda’s Sarah Ageno came second in the FIBA 3×3 Africa Cup 2018 Shootout contest.

The UCU forward was among the four players (two men and two women) that reached in the final following a closely contested qualifying campaign.

Uganda’s Ageno, Rana Abelzaher (Egypt), N’ Faly Kanoute (Mali) and Diade Sakera (Mauritania) all made five of their ten shots to reach the finals.

In the first round of the finals, Mali’s N’Faly Kanoute and Ageno tied with six shots apiece, before N’Faly won the top gong scored 7 to Ageno’s 3.

The gong will come as a consolation to Ageno who couldn’t spur Uganda past defending champions and eventual winners Mali at the quarters, in the main event.

It should be noted that Uganda’s Silverbacks came second and the Gazelles finished fifth.
