INSS Vs KPA
V-Club Vs Ferroviario Maputo
Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) basketball club will look to bounce back as they take on INSS (DR Congo) at the ongoing 2018 FIBA Africa Champions Women Cup in Maputo, Mozambique.
It should be noted that KPA acquired three Uganda National Basketball League stars for this campaign – Jamila ‘Zama’ Nansikombi (JKL), Cynthia Irakunda (KCCA) and Christine Akinyi (UCU).

Zama who is the leading top scorer at the moment ahead of matchday three, has had an impressive campaign so far.
She dropped 26 points, five rebounds and three assists to guide KPA past Zimbabwe’s Lakers to get off the mark.
Despite scoring another game high 27 points on matchday two, Zama’s efforts were not enough as KPA lost their first game against Nigeria’s First Bank team.

Akinyi who has not been given many playing time, is yet to get a basket. Point guard Irakunda scored eight and four points in the first two games accordingly.
Against INSS on Monday, KPA will find strong resistance from star performers like Hornela Kifuabala, Cecile Mukoso, Tania Longomo, Evodie Lubata Londa among others.
The DR Congo side won their only game so far 71-51 against MB2all of Cote D’Ivoire.

The games are being played at the Pavilhao do maxaquene Gymnasium in Maputo and will conclude this Sunday on 25th.
It should be noted that the Zone V region (where Uganda is part) has two representatives – KPA and Equity bank, both from Kenya.
Equity and KPA finished first and second at the recently concluded Zone V championship held in Dar es Salaam where UCU Lady Canons came third.
In Maputo, there are ten teams which are divided into two groups of five. The top four from each group will reach the quarters that start on Thursday.
