It is now clear that Uganda will not shift base from Cairo after qualifying to play in the round of 16 of the ongoing AFCON.
Egypt went through as group A winner, Uganda as the runner up while DR Congo will have to wait to see the final rankings of the four best placed third place teams.
Uganda Cranes will now face the runners up in group C that has Algeria, Senegal, Kenya and Tanzania.
Currently, Algeria by virtue of beating both Kenya and Senegal in their opening match has gone through as group C winners.
Kenya and Senegal face each other later on Monday night with the better side advancing to play Uganda. Both sides have picked three points so far.
Egypt will face one of the third best placed teams in group C, D and E. D has Morocco, Ivory Coast, South Africa and Namibia. Morocco has qualified while all the other three stand a chance.
E has Mali on top, Tunisia, Angola and Mauritania in that order. Both Egypt and Uganda’s matches will be hosted at the Cairo international stadium where they have been playing from.
