The Uganda Cranes will play two international friendlies against Turkmenistan and Ivory Coast as part of their preparations for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations that kicks off later this month.
The federation confirmed that the Cranes will play the lowly-ranked Asian side in a closed door build-up on Monday 9th June at the New York University stadium in Abu Dhabi.
They will then face the Elephants of Ivory Coast six days later in an open friendly in a yet to be identified venue.
The team’s head coach Sebastian Desabre believes that the two matches
will help panel beat his squad ahead of their kick-off against DR Congo on 22nd.
“We must put value to every moment we spend here in Abu Dhabi. We must
prepare very well for the tournament and that is why we have organized two friendlies for the team on 9th and 15th June against very good teams,” said Sebastian.
Uganda is in group A with hosts Egypt, DR Congo and Zimbabwe.
