There are several stars that could light the Uganda Cranes side as they start their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations campaign on Saturday against DR Congo.
However much the team is littered with stars including Africa’s number one goalkeeper Denis Onyango, the keeper who doubles as the capatain believes teamwork is the only way to success.
Onyango, who arrived in Egypt with team on Tuesday night, has not stopped stressing the need for teamwork.
“We shall need to work as a complete team,” Onyango stressed in his first press conference at the Cairo International stadium.
“You cannot win a game when you are playing individual football. To get as far as we can, we need to get the best use of the team quality. We have camped for a long time in Abu Dhabi and virtually all the players know each other well. Football is a team sport.
Onyango further stressed the need to work hard and start the tournament on a positive note when they face DR Congo on Saturday.
“Against DR Congo, we need that first victory because it always pushes us further. Our goal is to go past the group stages,” Onyango added.
