Manchester United defender Eric Baily will not feature in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations that starts on Friday 24th June in Egypt.
Baily was ruled out after failing to recover from a knee injury he suffered during an English Premier League match against Chelsea in April.
The nation’s coach Ibrahim Kamara named the final list with clubless Wilfred Bony in. The squad that is dominated by European-based stars has only five players who play in Africa.
The Elephants, a two-time champion, is pooled in B with Morocco, South Africa and Namibia. They have won the title twice – in 1992 and 2015.
They will face Uganda later this week on Saturday 15th June in their final build up friendly in Abu Dhabi before heading to Cairo.
