AFCON: DR Congo Target Uganda For A Perfect Start

Every team will want to start a major tournament on a good note putting in mind that in most cases, like in the upcoming AFCON, a good start boosts the team and eases pressure as tournament grows.

For DR Congo, they have to face an unfamiliar and tricky opponent in the Uganda Cranes as they roll the ball on Saturday at the Cairo International stadium. Their head coach Florent Ibenge trusts his forces and thinks the group A that has hosts Egypt, Zimbabwe and Uganda is …. “a fair group”.

“Regarding my team,” he told Caf, “we are in a fair group even if we have to play Egypt at home and in front of their fans.”

However, the coach is well aware of the fruits of starting positively as he stresses: “The key for us is to start well against Uganda before playing the host nation. We have all our chances and I think that to go as far as possible, we must do better in every game.”
