Abryanz Unveils ASFA Nomination Categories

It is that time of the year when all fashion and style lovers get ready for the annual Abryanz Style & Fashion Awards (ASFA).

In order not to disappoint them, Abryanz Collection Empire Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Brian Ahumuza aka Abryanz, on Monday unveiled categories of nominations for the ASFA 2017 event.

This will be the 6th edition ever since Abryanz introduced these awards to Uganda’s fashion industry in 2011.

While talking to Chimplyf about this year’s event slated for December 8th, Abryanz said that “We aim at analyzing how growth and development in the fashion industry is changing many peoples’ lives for the better.

It is for this reason that the theme for this year’s ASFA 2017 is ‘Fashion Takeover.”

Abryanz added that “The categories of this year’s ASFA in which individuals can apply for competition include;

Honorary Awards that reward Lifetime/Style Fashion Icon Achievement Award

Humanitarian Award for work in fashion


Outstanding model of the year

Fashion Entrepreneur of the year, among others.”

He also revealed that “There are other categories like;

Core Fashion Award, which considers;

Fashion Designer of the year,

Model of the year; both male and female.

We also have;

Fashion Contributors, which recognizes; Makeup artist of the year

Hair Stylist of the year

Fashion Photographer of the year

Stylist of the year

Fashion blogger/writer of the year, plus

Public Influencers Awards that include;

Most Stylish/dressed celebrity-male and female

Most Stylish/ fashionable music video

Best dressed media personality-male and female

Fashionista of the year-male and female

Best dressed on the red carpet.”

He revealed that most of the above sections in each category will be rewarding both Ugandans and achievers from around Africa; hence two awards in each section.

This year’s ASFA event will be held at Serena Hotel-Kampala come December 8th 2017, with sponsorship from Ciroc Vodka, Bell lager, Spark TV among others.
