A Look at CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup Quarterfinal Final Fixtures

The group stages of Confederation of African Football (CAF) club competitions successfully ended over the weekend.

Uganda’s hopes of having a team in the final eight were shuttered as Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) suffered a 4-0 defeat away to Club Africain.

CAF Champions league Champions league reigning champions, Mamelodi Sundowns will take on Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca.

Masandawana, where Uganda’s cranes skipper Dennis Masinde Onyango plies his trade will host the first leg at Lucas Moripe stadium before making the trip to Casablanca.

Mamelodi Sundowns finished second in group C on 9 points while the Moroccan giants topped group D on 12 points.

In the other champion’s league draws, Al Ahli Tripoli will play Etoile du Sahel, Ferroviaro Berra take on USM Alger while Al Ahly will face Esperance de Tunis.

Group A

Etoile due Sahel from Tunisia topped group A on 12 points while Ferroviaro Berra came second.

Their qualification was eased with the suspension of Sudan by FIFA a decision that meant El Merrickh and Al Hilal were automatically disqualified.

Group B

Alger topped group B on 11 points while Ferroviaro Berra defied odds to finish second on 9 points to storm the quarterfinals.

Group C Esperance de Tunis garnered 12 points to lead group C. They were joined by Mamelodi Sundowns who had 9 points despite not winning a game at home.

Group D

Wydad Casablanca finished the group phase with 12 points to lead group D while Al Ahly from Egypt settled for second place on 11 points.

Al Ahly(Egypt) vs Esperance de Tunis (Tunisia)

Ferroviaro Berra vs USM Alger(Algeria)

The fixtures (both CAF Champions league and Confederation Cup) will be played between 8th-11th September (first leg) and 15th-17th September
