UPC Rubbishes EC’s 2016 Road Map

He condemned the way in which EC commissioners are appointed, asserting that it is a clear indication of it being just an extension of the NRM government which cannot allow announcing defeat for their appointing authority.

Bosa assured the country needs an independent Electoral Commission so as to have fair results in the coming general elections.

“Without clear voters’ registers and an independent commission, the democracy of this country is at stake,” he noted.


He further called upon the police to stop intimidating voters during elections “which scares off citizens from participating in the process.”

The Electoral Commission launched its strategic plan for 2016 general elections on Tuesday at Hotel Africana in Kampala.

The plan aims at strengthening election management board, conducting free, fair and transparent elections, Credible accurate and accessible voters’ National register, effective and comprehensive voter education and a more service oriented election management board
