Zaidi who was present at the press conference on Tuesday in Kampala, told journalists that he had been pressured by the youth, the women and all the people of Butebo to come to Parliament and represent their interests.

He further noted that he was assured of an overwhelming victory due to the support and the trust that he has in the area given that he is a businessman and social to all groups of people.


Zaidi, who is former chairman of Forum for Democratic Party in Kakolo sub-county, added that he deserted the FDC ticket because the party had no reasonable roots to trace and poor grass root structures.

Mao vowed to offer support to Zaidi and lead a team of Democratic Party officials to drum up support for the candidate.

Mallinga’s wife, Beatrice Mallinga, has already expressed interest in the seat.
