The Ministry of Health has on Tuesday confirmed 97 new COVID-19 cases in Uganda, bringing the cumulative total number of confirmed infections in the country to 10,788.
“Results from COVID-19 tests done on 19th October 2020; 97 new COVID-19 cases confirmed. The cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 10,788,” the Health Ministry announced.
These cases were confirmed from the 1,567 samples tested on Monday. This brings the total number of samples tested so far to 524,966.
The new cases include 96 contacts and alerts and 1 truck driver.
These include; 32 from Kiryadongo, 25 from Kampala, 19 from Soroti, 8 from Wakiso, 6 from Mbale, 2 from Tororo, 1 from Lira, 1 from Pallisa, 1 from Jinja, and 1 from Buikwe.
Meanwhile, 1 truck driver who arrived from Busia also tested positive for Covid-19.
Currently, Uganda has a cumulative total of 10,788 COVID-19 confirmed cases, 7,066 recoveries and 97 fatalities.
