Kigali Grenade Explosion Kills 1

Kigali has lately been a target of grenade attacks by suspected collaborators of DRC-based rebel group, FDLR.


On January 3, 2012 a grenade explosion left 20 innocent Rwandans wounded and an unspecified number dead.

The explosion happened at about 18:40PM in Marembo Village, Nyabisindu Cell, Remera Sector in front of a pub where people were selling fruits and vegetables.

Kigali has in the past accused renegade army officers Gen. Kayumba Nyamwasa and Col. Patrick Karegeya of masterminding the previous grenade attacks, a charge they deny.
