CRIME: Police Urge Public To Buy Whistles

This warning comes at a time when the crime rate in Kampala suburbs is at the peak with thugs raiding shops to grab money from traders.

Ssenkumbi said thieves have these days changed tactics, “They use motorcycles and at times pluck off number plates and park them at a distance so as not to be noticed.”

He cited an example of a one Sandy Muwanguzi whose shop was attacked by thieves during the weekend in Kampala but raised an alarmed leading to his rescue.


“When Muwanguzi was attacked, one Paul kaaya, his neighbor was the first to come to the shop. He grabbed the gun from one of the robbers. The thugs got scared and run away without even stealing anything from the shop,” said Ssenkumbi.

“As police we recommend Kaaya, because that was a brave act. So people should work together not to only wait for police to rescue them,” said Ssenkumbi.
