Performance In Technical Exams Improves

Bukenya however said the candidature in 2012 declined by 63.895% from 12271 in 2011 to 4431 in 2012.


He however added that many students still find it difficult to express themselves in the English Language and this is attributed to lack of seriousness by the students towards the language.

The State Minister for Higher Education Hon .J.C .Muyingo said the number of female candidates who sat in 2012 was higher than those who sat in 2011 with a percentage increase of 3.2% from 12.5% to 15.7%.


Muyingo however noted that this percentage is still small as compared to the number of their male counterparts.


The Minister said there was no Examination malpractices recorded during the November 2012 technical examinations and has commended UNEB staff, supervisors, Uganda Police, scouts, and examiners for their invested efforts.


He however encouraged all parents to enroll their children for vocational and technical studies which will help in curbing unemployment levels in the country.
