Lwakataka Grand Homecoming Pushed to Sunday

President Yoweri Museveni has paid tribute to the fallen Kanungu businessman, page store Eric Francis Munubi praising him for promoting non-sectarian politics in Kigezi and other parts of the country.

“I join the family to celebrate the life and achievements of Munubi, malady ” said Museveni.

President Museveni in his eulogy message delivered by the Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda at the burial ceremony in Kanyantorogo, sick Kanungu district on Thursday, said Munubi made personal sacrifices and was brutalized by past regimes for supporting the National Resistance Army (NRA) bush war that brought the NRM Government to power in 1986.

“He remained a steadfast worker and leader of NRM in Kanungu, Kabale, Bushenyi, Kampala and other areas. He passed away at the time when the NRM Government was consolidating the gains and transforming Uganda,” said the President.

Museveni said Munubi who passed away at the age of 71 was a successful businessman, prominent tea farmer, mobiliser and counsellor who was very influential in shaping public opinion.

He urged his family members especially the children and the Banyakigezi community to champion the love, unity, development and other values he stood for.

President Museveni contributed 15 million shillings towards the burial expenses.

The Bishop of Kinkizi diocese, Dan Zoreka who presided over the burial ceremony thanked God for the life of Munubi.


He said Munubi was a hardworking man and a family unifier whose legacy should be emulated.

All speakers hailed Munubi who died of acute ulcers on Monday for his love for the Church, education, teamwork and effective management of his family of three wives and 21 children.

Also present were State Minister for Health, Dr Chris Baryomunsi, Uganda’s Permanent Representative at the UN, Dr Richard Nduhura, Kanungu District Chairperson Canon Josephine Kasya and her Bushenyi counterpart Willis Bashasha among others.
Fans and followers of rally ace and businessman Ponsiano ‘Mafu Mafu’ Lwakataka will have a grand welcome party on Sunday 27th December at his home in Kyebando.

The ceremony was earlier scheduled for yesterday Thursday after he was acquired of murder charges by court yesterday, hospital but his close allies say that they received numerous requests to push the day forward due to the festive seasons.

“Due to public demand Ponsiano Lwakataka’s welcome back party has been postponed to
Sunday 27th same place (Kyebando) time will be 5pm, viagra order ” rally co-driver Lawrence Mwambazi said.

Unconfirmed rumors had it that Lwakataka will make an appearance at the Boxing Day Champions Sprint rally at Festino Cite Mukono on December 26 either actively or passively. However ChimpSport can reliably report that the rally ace will take part in next year’s national rally championships that roll in Mbarara around February.

The Case:
Lwakata was accused of hiring assailants, who killed nine people in Rakai district. The said killers drilled a hole into a house, attacked and killed Pastor Mugambe, his wife Noeline Nalinnya,his mother Maria Namatovu and six other family members.
