Chess’ Vainney Luggya Awarded Another Term

The 2013 Elective Assembly

The 2013 Elective Assembly also elected to amend their constitution adding new posts of Director Technical and Director Development. Former Chess Federation Vice President Stephen Kisuuze moved unopposed to the new slot of Director Technical while Robert Katende was instituted pioneer Director Development.

Uganda Christian University Chess Club’s youthful Charles Nabuno was trounced by Ms. Olga Namwanje a late nomination due to chants of gender equality from the assembly members while the battle between aging Joachim Okoth and Olympian Bob Bibasa for National coach had Bibasa triumph with a 15:14 win.


Former General Secretary Christopher Turyahebwa was retained and so was Makindye Chess club’s Augustine Lwanga for Federation Treasurer while Caxton Kalule also overcame Anthony Tumusiime 18:7 to win Publicity Secretary.

A total of 37 delegates turned out with 17 out of a possible 20 clubs being represented.
