The Ministry of Health has on Tuesday confirmed 81 new COVID-19 cases in Uganda bringing the cumulative total number of confirmed infections in the country to 9,945.
A new COVID-19 death has also been registered in Yumbe district.
“Results from the COVID-19 tests done on 12th October 2020; 81 new COVID-19 cases confirmed. The cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 9,945,” the Health Ministry announced.
The new cases include 80 contacts, alerts and one returnee.
These include; 27 from Kampala, 10 from Omoro, 11 Kiryadongo, 7 from Butaleja, 8 from Kaabong, 3 from Gulu, 3 from Jinja, 3 from Katakwi, 3 from Yumbe, 1 from Budaka, 1 from Mbale, 1 from Pader, 1 from Tororo and 1 from Wakiso.
The returnee who tested positive for Covid-19 arrived from Kenya.
Currently, Uganda has a cumulative total of 9,945 COVID-19 confirmed cases, 6,347 recoveries and 95 fatalities.
