60 Government Agencies Take Part In e – Government Expo

Over 60 government ministries, departments and agencies have taken part in the e – government excellence exhibition organized by National Information Technology Authority (NITA) in collaboration with Huawei technologies.

A 2-day fair that began this morning is taking place at Garden City Roof Top and the general public is invited to attend.

Steven Kirenga the head of marketing and communication at NITA says the exhibition looks forward to bringing all MDA’s to showcase their products to the general public.

“NITA has organized this exhibition to bring together all government Ministries, Departments and Agencies that offer digital products to showcase them to the citizens. This is also to create awareness about how services offered by these agencies can be accessed by the citizens,” he said

He added that as NITA, they look forward to making a government that operates as one by easing information flow among all government entities.

“We want to increase working efficiency in all government agencies to improve on service delivery.”

He further said that NITA has launched “Umail” features that include communication, messaging, video conferencing, file sharing, e – training among others to make flow of information faster.

Derrick Etuusa the solutions manager enterprise at Huawei technologies which is the co – organizer of the event said that as the company they launched e – government infrastructure phase 1, phase 2 and phase 3 in 2007, 2009 and 2016 respectively to connect all government MDA’s together to make information flow faster.


He added that Huawei endeavors to have a ugandan digital society.

“We work closely with government so that people at home can get information in comfort of their homes. We have a vision to bring information to everyone in the country,” he said

The fair is organized under the theme “Bold digital government: unlocking service delivery.

Some of the agencies showcasing their products and services include, Ministry of works and transport, KCCA, NSSF, Makerere university, MUBS, uganda police, NMS, UIA, URA among others
