The tournament is held annually in memory of one of the most celebrated golfers in the country who died in 2004 and it will also be in remembrance of his son Charles Yokwe who died in a motor accident in Mabira.

While unveiling the sponsorship at Kitante golf club Nile Breweries brand manager Timothy Kayondo pledged to continue sponsoring this tournament which has contributed to the growth of the game of Golf in the country.

Andrew Kasigwa, the chairman Jinja golf club expressed Gratitude towards Castle-lite commitment and promised that they are looking forward to a successful tournament.

Last year’s championship was won by Adolf Muhumuza.

Nsimbe is now on the trying to bring back the players he used to work with in the 2008 season.


So far the yellow boys have got the services of Tonny Odur(Bunamwaya), Yuda Mugala, and Alex Turiraba.

The club started training two weeks back under the watchful eye of the coach Nsimbe with his assistant Molly Byekwaso.
