Museveni Off To Ethiopia

President Yoweri Museveni has been received in Ethiopia’s Capital Addis Ababa at the start of a 2-day State Visit to the country in the Horn of Africa.

The President, symptoms abortion who is accompanied by his wife and also Karamoja Affairs Minister, shop Mrs. Janet Museveni, was this morning welcomed at Bole International Airport by the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Mr. Hailemariam Desalegn, a number of Ethiopian Cabinet Ministers as well as other high-ranking government officials.

President was earlier seen off at Entebbe International Airport by the Head of Public Service, Mr. John Mitala.

Others at the Airport to see him off included the Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura, the Commissioner General of Prisons, Dr. Johnson Byabashaija and Chief of Staff the Air Force, Col. James Birungi.

Museveni is scheduled to hold talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn and other senior officials on ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the areas of economy and security, the source told The Anadolu Agency.

The talks are also expected to dwell on regional peace and security, the source added.

Both Ethiopia and Uganda have contributed troops to an African peacekeeping mission in war-torn Somalia, which has remained in the grip of violence since 1991.

In 2011, the two countries signed a regional security operations deal that provides for both states to take common position on regional security affairs.


The agreement was also meant to allow for free movements of people between the two countries.
