Kampala Tycoon Robbed Shs150m At Gunpoint

Mustafa was ambushed on his way to Nateete by unknown gun-trotting robbers, according to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Ibin Ssenkumbi.

Mustafa never showed any signs of resistance, according to a statement he recorded at Kampala Central Police Station.

The businessman was not injured by the thugs.

The incident signals the rising cases of gun-related crime in Kampala city.

On the same day, says Ssenkumbi, two armed robberies were reported in Arua park in which Spot Forex Bureau was cleaned of a staggering Shs120m.

Two guards Hassan Kanyike, and a one Tenywa have been held over the robbery.

A fortnight ago, gunmen shot dead top Muslim cleric Sheikh Abdu Karim Sentamu along William Street in Kampala.


“I appeal to all Ugandans to always deposit large sums of money in banks to avoid theft,” cautioned Ssenkumbi.
