Mbarara Police Station Officer in Charge of Operations, Swizini Tibesigwa confirmed the arrest and urged the locals to be vigilant with such idle people.
“Residents should report such people to Police. These are the same people that end up defiling, raping, breaking into houses, and robbing boda boda riders at night,” he said.
He added that Police would work with residents to eliminate idle characters ahead of the Christmas festival celebrations.
The group will be screened and those found guilty will be taken to court and charged with drug abuse and related offences. The case is registered under Ref No. CRB 475/2014.
