A few hours later Museveni received Kagame who is on a three-day State visit to Uganda.

The Rwandan leader who was in Uganda last month on a private visit, is accompanied by his wife Jeanette Kagame.

They couple arrive arrived at State House, Entebbe at 3.30pm and were accorded a red carpet welcome and a 21 gun salute.

At the end of the receiving ceremonies, Kagame and Museveni received the report on the outcome of the 10th Joint Permanent Commission (JPC) between the 2 countries and later held bilateral talks on matters of mutual importance to the two East African Community brotherly countries.


During their stay in Uganda the two visiting Presidents will join their host tomorrow at the celebrations marking the 26th anniversary of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Kapchorwa district.

Kagame will be awarded two liberation medals for his role in the NRA struggle led by Museveni.

Kagame was one of the 27 combatants who attacked Kabamba barracks in a daring raid that marked the turning point in the history of the rebel outfit.

Museveni captured power in 1986 thus appointing Kagame deputy military intelligence boss.

Museveni later supported Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) which ended genocide in 1994.
