288 New COVID-19 Cases, 2 Deaths Recorded on Monday

The Ministry of Health has on Monday confirmed 288 new COVID-19 cases in Uganda bringing the cumulative total number of confirmed infections in the country to 12,971.

2 new COVID-19 deaths have been registered from Sironko district.

“Results from COVID-19 tests done on 1st November 2020; 288 new COVID-19 cases confirmed. The cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 12,971,” the Health Ministry announced.

The new cases include 227 contacts and alerts, and 1 truck driver.

These include; 126 from Kampala, 21 from Buikwe, 12 from Wakiso, 8 from Soroti, 7 from Mityana, 6 from Mbale, 6 from Kasese, 6 from Isingiro, 6 from Mayuge, 11 from Jinja, 5 from Busia, 2 from Ntungamo, 2 from Kabarole, 1 from Kamuli, 1 from Bundibugyo, 1 from Masaka, 1 from Kaberamaido, 1 from Tororo, 1 from Moroto, 1 from Nebbi, 1 from Kibuku and 1 from Luwero.

The truck driver who tested positive for COVID-19 arrived from Malaba.

Currently, Uganda has a cumulative total of 12,971 COVID-19 confirmed cases, 7,556 recoveries and 114 fatalities.
