Pastor Senyonga Fires Striking Employees

However by the end of June, Senyonga had made no communication to his employees regarding their pay which prompted them to strike again on July 2.

He then reacted by giving Shs. 1,000,000 to the Station Manager to distribute amongst the over 20 employees as allowance as they wait for full payment.

The angry and disappointed Top TV workers turned down the offer not knowing that it would be given to the expectant Top Radio workers who accepted the little money and returned to work.

ChimpLyf understands, Pastor Senyonga on Thursday asked Steven Danstan Busulwa, the station manager to call the TV staff to resume work but to his disappointment, they all refused. He then retaliated by ordering the manager to fire whoever did not turn up.


“The chairman has asked me to replace all of you, so it is upon you to either resume work as you wait for payment or leave and never get your payment,” Busulwa explained during the staff meeting.

He then went ahead and informed the disappointed staff that the chairman could only raise Shs. 100.000 for the staff members that attended the meeting only.

The hopeless staff rushed and immediately signed for the petty coins and resumed work without any further questions.

The untold suffering at the Top media group can only be said out when one leaves and gets another job, otherwise no one has ever been brave enough to face Pastor Senyonga and this has left many employees frustrated.

Some of the best employees pastor lost over nonpayment include Wamala Balunaba who used to anchor the 7 o’clock news called “Agookya”, Dan Mugisha one of the best graphic designers who was formerly heading the graphics department, Olivi Nabisinde former Luganda news anchor, Kome Kimonyi one of the most intelligent and best news editor from Kenya and Sophie – the recent station manager from Kenya.
