The StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounter between URA FC and Police FC has been postponed to another date according to the league secretariat.
In a letter released on Monday morning, the organisers of the league indicated URA FC has players on the U23 national team and thus the game had to be pushed to another date.
” FUFA has confirmed Wednesday 14th November 2018 as the date the U23 will be playing the AFCON qualifiers against South Sudan at StarTimes stadium,” the letter starts.
” Accordingly a list of 23 man squad was summoned with some SUPL clubs having more than three players.”
The FUFA regulations stipulate that if a club has three or more players on the national team, it may chose to have its games postponed.
” In accordance with Article 19(26), if a club has three or more players on the national team, the fixtures involving such a club may be called off three days before and three days after the national team engagement if it is to be played in Uganda.”
The tax collectors have Patrick Paul Mbowa, Shafik Kuchi Kagimu and Ronald Kigongo on the U23 national team (The Kobs) that is currently in camp at Njeru Technical Centre.
It is on that note therefore that the game between URA FC and Police FC slated for Tuesday, 13th November 2018 has been pushed to a date yet to be known.
However league action will continue on Tuesday with three games on card. Mbarara City FC host BUL FC at Kakyeka stadium in Mbarara, Bright Stars FC will host Express FC in Mwererwe while Kirinya Jinja SS will be at home to Maroons FC.
