217 New COVID-19 Cases Recorded on Friday

The Ministry of Health has on Friday confirmed 217 new COVID-19 cases in Uganda bringing the cumulative total number of confirmed infections in the country to 10,334.

“Results from COVID-19 tests done on 15th October 2020; 217 new COVID-19 cases confirmed. The cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 10,334,” the Health Ministry announced.

The new cases include 215 contacts and alerts, 1 truck driver and 1 returnee.

These include; 100 from Kampala, 20 from Luweero, 13 from Mbarara, 9 from Mbale, 8 from Lira, 7 from Iganga, 7 from Sironko, 6 from Kween, 6 from Adjumani, 5 from Gulu, 5 from Rubanda, 5 from Wakiso, 4 from Hoima, 5 from Jinja, 2 from Moyo, 2 from Pallisa, 2 from Soroti, 1 from Arua, 2 from Buikwe, 1 from Kagadi, 1 from Kyotera, 1 from Madi Okollo, 1 from Maracha, 1 from Sembabule and 1 from Tororo.

The returnee who tested positive for COVID-19 arrived from Kenya.

The truck driver who also tested positive for Covid-19 arrived from Malaba.

Currently, Uganda has a cumulative total of 10,334 COVID-19 confirmed cases, 6,901 recoveries and 96 fatalities.
