“Let us all work together for peace.”

In the last few days, Machar has been traversing the region, meeting leaders including Kenya’s Uhuru Kenyatta.

The Sudan trip is likely to raise fresh doubts about Machar’s commitment to the peace agreement which he signed with Kiir early this month.

President Omar Bashir’s government is accused of having committed war crimes as South Sudan fighters waged a protracted struggle for independence.

Until recently, Bashir was a self-declared enemy of the government in Juba. However, Machar served with Bashir after breaking ranks with SPLA in the early 1990s.

This website understands that IGAD`s Monitoring and Evaluation team (Envoys) led by Gen. Mohamed El-Dabi are holding a press briefing at Dembesh Hotel in capital Juba at midday.
