Tooro: Student Injures 3 In Bomb Attack

Francis Junior, a former student who had been expelled from the school over indiscipline cases and others whose identities could not be revealed, passed through the Golf Course and entered the school illegally.


The three students who remained in the Golf course passed the bomb that was wrapped in a metallic pipe to Junior who had jumped inside the fence.


Mr. Kiziito said that Junior threw the bomb at the students who had gathered in the compound listening to candidates campaigning for the prefect leadership on Friday afternoon.


“The bomb, made of plastic pipe, stones, match sticks and petrol, blasted wounding the three students and damaging the brass band that had been hired by some aspiring candidates.”

Junior, who is currently studying at Kagote Seed secondary school in West division, Fort Portal municipality, took off after the incident.


Mr. Kiziito said the injured students were rushed to Fort Portal regional hospital for E-Ray diagnosis and treatment.


On Wednesday this week, the same student allegedly attacked Madam Dorcus Kigamba, the Deputy in charge of Disciplinary Committee, and threatened to harm her following the role she played in his expulsion.


Abdul Mulawa, the OC Fort Portal Police Station, confirmed the incident.


“We arrested of one of the students whose names are withheld for fear of jeopardising the investigations.”


He said they have launched a serious hunt for the prime suspects and once arrested, they face charges of terrorism.
