NRM MPs Want Ex-VP Bukenya Disciplined

sickness http://croxtontechnology.com/components/com_k2/templates/default/item.php sans-serif; color: #222222;”>The MPs are challenging Bukenya’s action which saw him rallying behind the opposition Woman Member of Parliament, Brenda Nabukenya, instead of supporting his party member, Rebecca Nalwanga in the just concluded Luwero by-elections.

Makindye East Member of Parliament, John Simbwa, says that the act by the former Vice president was totally unprofessional, according to the NRM party rules, and demands that Mr. Bukenya faces the disciplinary committee because he breached party rules by campaigning for an opposition member.

The Youth MP Eastern Region, Denis Obua, and the Tororo Municipality MP, Santa Tanna, among others, also demand for a tentative action against Mr. Bukenya saying, that he has brought a big shame to the party being a senior member of the party.

Meanwhile, “rebel” MPs; Wilfred Niwagaba of Ndorwa East and Barnabas Tinkasimire of Lwemiyaga county applauded Mr Bukenya for the bold act saying, that he has shown much professionalism by following the constitutional rules.

Hon Odonga Otto, MP Aruu County, blamed the NRM MPs arguing, that Bukenya was not made by the party and he has equal voting rights to do what he wants as long as he stays in the party.


Prior to the yesterday’s elections, Mr. Bukenya together with the leaders of opposition decided to camp in Luwero district to rally behind the DP party member, Nabukenya who in the end won the by-election.

Following the act, the Minister of Information and National Guidance, Rose Namayanja and the NRM district chairman for Luwero, Hajji Nadduli, expressed great disappointment in Bukenya backstabbing the party.
