The victims told police that Ssembatya had promised to help them “reduce” the charges against them but he did not do it as agreed.
The victims were all students of Uganda Technical College Kahaya, Bushenyi who were battling with two counts of producing false documents and forgery.
Police said that on completion of investigations, Ssembatya will be arraigned in courts to face the long arm of the law.
In another development, Police in Ntungamo district have arrested one of their own for stealing road construction fuel.
The Ntungamo District Police Commander, Baker Kawonawo, confirmed the arrest and identified the suspect identified as SPC Vincent Kabegye, 26 years, a police driver at Ntungamo Police Station.
Kawonawo said that Kabegye was arrested by the Police Professional Standards UNIT Squad that was deployed in Ntungamo district to avert the theft of road equipment and fuel from the Reynolds Construction Company (RCC) Company.
The suspect was driving police vehicle registration number UP 2607.
It is reported that Police Professional Standards Unit Squad landed on Kabengye driving the police vehicle in the middle of the night raising suspicion hence trailing him.
Kabegye then found siphoning fuel from a road construction vehicle which was parked by the road side.
He said that the suspect will later be arraigned in court to face charges.
