2017 A ‘Huge Year for Youths’ – Ministry

The Ministry of Gender Labor and Social Development in conjunction with Uganda North American Youth Development Association (UNAYDA) are slated to host a youth conference from 12th – 16th December at the Mandela National Stadium.

The event according to officials is aimed at bringing together youths to showcase their talents and innovations.

The event is part of the ministry’s end of year plan for the youth and intends to offer them a “platform to recap what they have been doing and perhaps be their turning point to focus more on development.”

The youths in Uganda make up 77percent of the population, click which officials maintain can be harnessed to become the country’s development engine.

While speaking to press on Monday at the Uganda media centre, stomach Youth Minister Hon Nakiwala Kiyingi said the ministry has a lot in stock for the youth. For instance she said in 2017 they will be hosting the JAMAFEST, which brings together the youth from all the East African Countries.

There’s also the 19th common wealth youth ministers meeting which will run from 31st of July to 4th of August 2017.

‘’The youth will take the center stage in 2017. We have a lot in stock for them and more employment opportunities,’ she said.

The youths who are spearheading the Nambole event include Barbie Kyagulanyi, the founder of Caring Hearts Uganda, Peter Kagwa an events manager and Sir Mathias Walukaga who have also been a leading example to the youths in Uganda.
