2016 KPL Enters Final Round

The 2016 edition of the Kenya Premier League climaxes on Saturday November 19th with a full round of matches playing concurrently in eight different venues.

Tusker FC enter match day 30 as the new champions and are slated for coronation after their final match against former Champions Gormahia at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.

Coach Nkata’s brewers stand firmly on 58 points while their match day opponents trek with four points lesser and therefore cannot mathematically overturn the deficit. Gormahia assured of the runners up position and the package that accompanies the position.

Top eight tourney.
All the eight teams have been confirmed and the only hussle remains the last fight to finish in better positions for an improved ‘share by rank package’.

Five teams are safe, neither in the top four chase nor the relegation dog fight but may only fight for a better ranking package. They include giants AFC Leopards and coastal based dockers Bandari FC.

Relegation battle.
Nairobi City Stars FC have already bid farewell to the league and will only honor their last game at home against Sony Sugar. The struggling side have collected a paltry 19 points throughout the entire campaign.


Two games will be contesting for match of the day; Posta Rangers host relegation threatened Ushuru FC and Sofapaka seeking solace against Thika United.

The Rangera are aiming a top four finish against Ushuru’s target of holding on to the safety pin. A draw will work for the latter!
