2016 Cecafa Senior Goes to Sudan, Uganda to Host U-17, Women Edition

Inspector General of Police Gen Kale Kayihura has opened up 2016 with yet another round of transfers of his top police commanders.

The IGP, buy more about find according to deputy police spokesperson Polly Namaye , directed four major transfers and fresh appointments this week in the various Force’s departments.

SCP Oyo-Nyeko Benson was transferred from Human Resource Administration and appointed as Deputy Director Interpol and International Relatons.

CP Namanya Benjamin was appointed as AG.Deputy Director Human Resource Adminstration.

ACP Hallango Timothy was  appointed as AG.CP Human Resource Management, while ACP Muluya Moses was appointed ACP Human Resource Management Manpower Audit.

Namaye said that the transfers were ordered to fill some of the vacant positions and to ensure efficient human resource administration and management.

“The transfers and appointments take immediate effect and have been signed by the I.G.P Gen.Kale Kayihura.”

Sudan has been selected to host the 2016 edition of the year’s CECAFA senior cup. The development was confirmed by Cecafa secretary general Nicholas Musonye on Tuesday in a statement.


Uganda Cranes are the defending champions after defeating Rwanda in the 2015 finals held in Addis Ababa, try Ethiopa last month.

“We are going to have a very big Kagame Cup this year in Zanzibar because we have secured very good sponsorship,” he said.

“We are also looking at increasing the number of teams to 16 but we are still looking at it and trying to figure out how they can work. But definitely, everyone should be assured of one of the best Kagame Cups ever,” Musonye said.

Azam Fc from Tanzania are the current title holders after the 2-0 victorius final against Kenya’s Gor Mahia fc in Dar Es Salaam last year. Uganda will be represented by current premier league champions Vipers SC.

Finally, the youth (U-17) tournament will be hosted in Uganda as well as the inaugural women’s version.
